How Mounjaro Works

  • Feel fuller for longer: reducing appetite
  • Control cravings: stay on track
  • Stabilise blood sugar levels: prevent energy dips
  • Burn fat more effectively: improve metabolism

With a simple once-weekly injection, Mounjaro fits seamlessly into your everyday life.

  • Average of 9.8kg (21.6lbs) weight loss compared to placebo
  • Higher doses show up to 22.4% weight loss over 72 weeks

FAQs

Your questions answered

What is Mounjaro used for?

Mounjaro is designed for weight loss and should only ever be used by an individual who’s overweight or obese. Our doctor will carry out an assessment and determine whether it’s a safe and effective treatment for you. They’ll ask you about your lifestyle, any medications you’re taking, and treatment preferences.

What changes should I make to my lifestyle while taking Mounjaro?

Successful weight loss with Mounjaro involves more than just medication. Adopting healthy lifestyle habits is a key component to improving overall health and losing weight. This includes a balanced diet, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, and stress management. Combining Mounjaro with these lifestyle changes can significantly enhance weight loss and your overall health.

Is Mounjaro effective for weight loss?

Clinical trials have demonstrated that Mounjaro leads to significant weight loss by reducing appetite and increasing feelings of fullness. Participants in these studies experienced notable weight reduction, making it an effective tool for weight management when used alongside diet and exercise.

How long does Mounjaro take to work?

The effects of Mounjaro on appetite reduction and weight loss tend to happen within the first few weeks of treatment. However, the timeline can vary from person to person. For many, a noticeable difference in weight and appetite control is evident within the first three months.

How much does Mounjaro cost?

The price of Mounjaro depends on the strength of the dose. Click here for full pricing information.

Why is there some liquid left in the Mounjaro KwikPen after using all four doses?

Each Mounjaro KwikPen contains 3 ml of liquid, designed to deliver 0.6 ml per dose (4 doses total). The leftover liquid ensures proper priming. Once you’ve used all 4 doses, the pen won’t deliver another full dose — dispose of it even if liquid remains.

How can I ensure I receive four complete doses from the KwikPen?

Follow the priming and dosing instructions in your medication leaflet. Always prime before injecting, check the plunger position after each use, and use a new needle each time.

What should I do if the dose knob is hard to push?

Prime the pen before each injection, inject slowly, and ensure you’re using a new, correctly attached needle. If problems persist, contact us.

How does a health coach support me?

Health coaches amplify your results by helping you integrate sustainable habits in nutrition, exercise, sleep, and mindset. While Mounjaro suppresses appetite, your coach provides strategies to maintain progress, set achievable goals, and stay motivated.

How does SurreyGP’s approach to nutrition support my weight loss goals?

Our nutrition philosophy complements Mounjaro by focusing on balanced, sustainable dietary changes that fit your lifestyle. Together with your health coach, this approach helps reduce reliance on fad diets and supports long-term success.
