Vimkunya is a vaccine for the prevention of Chikungunya virus infection, a mosquito-borne disease transmitted primarily by Aedes mosquitoes. Chikungunya infection typically presents with acute fever and severe polyarthralgia, and may lead to prolonged or chronic joint symptoms.  Disease Background: Chikungunya is endemic or epidemic in parts of Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and the Indian Ocean region

Chikungunya vaccine can be given from age 12 years and is a one dose schedule.
