Flu Vaccination – Winter 2026/27

Flu vaccination is AVAILABLE NOW and is particularly recommended for people with asthma and other long-term health conditions. Vaccination is available from 6 months of age, subject to clinical suitability, and at SurreyGP we specialise in administering vaccines to children.

For the 2026/27 season, we offer the Cell-based Trivalent Influenza Vaccine Seqirus, suitable from 6 months of age, and the Adjuvanted Trivalent Influenza Vaccine Seqirus, which is licensed for adults aged 50 years and over. Your doctor will advise which vaccine is most appropriate for you based on your age and clinical circumstances.

Influenza viruses continually evolve and change. Each year, the World Health Organization (WHO) reviews circulating influenza viruses and recommends which strains should be included in vaccines for the forthcoming flu season.

For the 2026/27 Northern Hemisphere influenza season, the strains depend on the method used to manufacture the vaccine.

The cell-based Trivalent Influenza Vaccine Seqirus contains:

• A/Missouri/11/2025 (H1N1)pdm09-like strain
• A/Darwin/1415/2025 (H3N2)-like strain
• B/Pennsylvania/14/2025-like strain

The adjuvanted Trivalent Influenza Vaccine Seqirus contains:

• A/Missouri/11/2025 (H1N1)pdm09-like strain
• A/Darwin/1454/2025 (H3N2)-like strain
• B/Tokyo/EIS13-175/2025-like strain
