Flu Vaccine

Flu vaccination is available NOW and is highly recommended for patients with asthma and other long term health conditions. Anybody can have the vaccine from 6 months of age and we specialise in administering it to children.  If you are over 60, the Department of Health are advising you to have a Flu vaccine called Efluelda which is believed to be more effective in patients over 60.

The influenza viruses are constantly altering their structure. Every year the World Health Organisation recommends which strains the influenza vaccines should contain. It is recommended that all 3 strain vaccines for use in the 2025/26 influenza season (northern hemisphere winter) contain the following:
• A/Victoria/4897/2022 (H1N1)pdm09-like strain
• A/Croatia/10136RV/2023 (H3N2)-like strain
• B/Austria/1359417/2021-like strain
